This class is an online live class - streamed via Youtube.

What it’s about

The season of new beginnings is upon us and with it a time of transitioning from winter into spring. We shift from the hibernation of the winter months to an awakening of rebirth. Spring invites us to open back up, go out into nature and cultivate a spirit of aliveness.

One of yoga’s beautiful gifts is that it makes us aware of these transitions. How we approach our practice and the transitions on the mat can help us in how we welcome life off the mat as we transition into a new season, or simply through the changes of life.

Spring is also the perfect time for cleansing the body from the winter’s slumber. In the winter, we have a tendency to get sluggish, and so spring becomes the perfect time to clean the body of excess toxins in the tissues. Naturally we are drawn to cleaning our homes in Spring, and so we must also be inspired to spring-clean our bodies and minds.

Programm:

Vinyasa Yoga 10:00-11:30

The morning class is a mix of a slow and gentle as well as a dynamic and juicy vinyasa practice with a focus on backbends and twists. We will start our practice very slowly to help us find our way into greater freedom and deeper intuition. We will approach our yoga practice with attention to small details, before we will move through some more dynamic flows to get the water in the body moving, to energize and detox body and mind. Pranayama and a meditation practice as well as chanting a mantra to purify mind and heart are parts of this class.

Yin Yoga 12:30-14:00

The afternoon class is a gentle yin yoga class, where we spend more time (3-5min) in each posture. According to Chinese medicine, spring relates to the element of wood and to the organ system of the liver and gallbladder. The main function of the liver is detoxification. The different yin yoga postures will enhance flow of prana or in Chinese medicine called “chi” to support the liver and gallbladder in this detox-process and transition time.

After this 4 hours of deep yoga practice body and mind will hopefully feel pure, light and balanced. Leaving with and open heart full of love and a tank full of energy.
